West River VT
September 27th

The class III and IV rapids of the West River, Vermont are one of the state's hidden treasures. This intermediate-level white water rafting trip is an ideal way to kick off the season or to view the fall foliage. We put in at Ball Mountain Dam, where water is released for the trip. Our first taste of big water comes as we head into Landslide rapid. Several miles of continuous rapids later we meet our biggest challenge at the Dumplings where negotiating the river's natural s-turn pushes each rafter's paddling skills to the limit. We stop by the riverside for a brief snack and have opportunities for swimming before taking out at Townshend Reservoir.  Lunch will be served after the trip at the lodge where will will be meeting.  Participants on West River trips should be prepared for a fairly strenuous walk down a steep rocky trail at the beginning of the trip.

White Water Rafting Maine
2 nights White Water Rafting in Maine

Go with Extreme Adventures of Vermont to Maine.  We will leave in the morning of day one to arrive at the Forks in Maine by late afternoon.  When we arrive in Maine you will be able to relax while your EAVT guide prepares dinner.  There are canoes and kayaks avalible at the lake for your use if you would like to explore the lake shores.

In the morning get ready to go rafing while your guide prepares breakfast. EAVT has teamed up with Moxie outdoors to bring this great adventure weekend. The Kennebec River in Maine offers whitewater rafting adventure for fanatics and families. It's not long after we launch our rafts before the speed of the river begins to pick up and the waters begin to churn white. As we enter the steep granite walls of the Kennebec Gorge large waves can be seen ahead. From this point on the river plunges 12 miles through the gorge creating crashing wave rapids like "Big Mama", "Whitewasher" and "The Alleyway". The high point of the day is the run through Class V Magic Falls.  We stop briefly at the Middle River access point to pick up younger passengers. Rapids continue through out the day. There is plenty of time for swimming and enjoying the river including stopping along the river bank for a steak and chicken barbeque.

That evning come back to the camp site and relax while your dinner is prepard for you.  The next day you can choose to go on a nice hike with EAVT, relax at the campsite, or paddle around the lake.
